The engagement

Printo is one of India's largest print-on-demand platforms, with a significant presence across both online and offline channels. We partnered with Printo to enhance and maintain its custom-built e-commerce platform, addressing performance challenges inherent to a catalogue with deep customisation, complex pricing slabs, and high user interaction.

What we built

A platform engineered around the complexity of print on demand

  1. Next.js Frontend Migration

To improve speed and search visibility across a large and deeply customisable catalogue, we migrated the frontend to a Next.js–based architecture. Leveraging static generation, the rebuilt frontend delivered fast, SEO-friendly pages — meaningfully improving both user experience and organic discoverability.

  2. Catalogue Management

The catalogue layer goes well beyond listing products. We built a CMS-driven system for configuring product pages, home pages, landing pages, and category pages using composable page components — giving the Printo team control over the customer experience without engineering involvement. Underlying this is a sophisticated product model that handles complex product combinations, variant management, attribute-based pricing, inter-product dependencies, and flexible configuration workflows that reflect the real-world complexity of a large print catalogue.

  3. Product Designer

We built a unified designer experience that lets customers configure and personalise products across multiple categories — apparel, packaging, photo products, stationery, and signages — within a single cohesive interface. The designer manages a library of customisable templates across each product category, giving users a starting point that still allows deep personalisation. The breadth of product types supported, and the consistency of the experience across them, reflects the flexibility of the underlying architecture and the scale of the design investment.

  4. Logistics Integration & Intelligent Order Routing

We built deep integrations with logistics providers and implemented intelligent order routing logic — allowing the platform to direct jobs to the nearest retail store or a central production hub based on production requirements and delivery timelines. This reduced fulfilment time and made effective use of Printo's distributed physical footprint across online and offline channels.

  5. Express Delivery & Store Pickup

Among the more distinctive customer-facing capabilities on the platform are 4-hour express delivery and store pickup — options that are uncommon in e-commerce and especially challenging to deliver reliably for a print product. Both are integrated seamlessly into the customer journey and fulfilment flow, with routing logic that selects the right production path in real time to meet the committed delivery window.

  6. Corporate Gifting Platform

We kickstarted Printo's corporate gifting offering with a proof of concept for a self-serve experience. Employees could browse curated merchandise, place orders, and manage deliveries independently — significantly reducing the operational overhead on HR and administrative teams managing gifting programmes at scale.

  7. Print Workflow & Manual Review Handling

Given the nature of print production, the platform was engineered to handle scenarios requiring manual review and human intervention — ensuring quality control without compromising scalability or user experience. Orders requiring checks could be held, reviewed, and progressed without disrupting the broader fulfilment flow.
